My Graduation Ceremony
The last week Sunday (22nd), I went to the convocation at Yangon University. I was very lucky because my graduation section was in the morning. So I didn't need to care the hot sun. If I will attend the late noon section, Uff..! It will be very hot. In this day, I woke up early morning to prepare gown. (But actually, my clothes were very fast to wear. hee! I was waiting my mom and sis.:P). When I reached the University, there were many people who shot photos in front of the gate. No taxi can enter in the University. Some people who wore gown walk through the main road of the University (Ah Di Pa Ti Road). We drove into the University compound and get off near Tree Thit Poke (In Botany: Tetameles nudiflora). I was very happy because all of my family members followed with me. It had been a bit long time that we didn't meet together. So my father is a government officer that he's always transfer one city or town to another. I noticed to my parent that they are going to be old. I felt shame because I can't support them still now. I think it will be one day. Arr pardon me! It's just my feeling.
Normally, just only parent can enter in the hall. But I bought guest ticket for my sister from illegal seller. I paid 1500 kyats for that. Do not surprise! That is tradition. Nowadays, it is better than the past because everyone can shoot photos easily with digital camera as they desire in IT age. Sure! I shot my handsome photos more in the compound. I was shot in front of Tree Thit Poke, on the Main Road, in front of convocation and nearby lion idol. I couldn't find my friends in the morning. After I was shot photos, teachers warn to enter in the hall. It was 5 to 9 o' clock. When I entered in the hall, people had have seat. My seat located in the middle of the hall. It was very beautiful. There were many graduated student with gown. When it was 9 o' clock, suddenly Musician beat Byaw (kind of big drum) loudly and started the ceremony. We, graduated students were frightened when we heard this loud sound. That's funny. After that we all stand up while playing National Anthem.
OK I won't express detail of ceremony. You may be bore. My number is 822. There were 825 students in the morning section. After we've got degree, Professor gave a speech. And he announced that the ceremony was completely done. They, Professors walk very slowly and they passed through the door. After that we followed with them. When I reached the outside of convocation hall, it was very hot. I was seeking my friends to shot photos. I was shot photos with them. Well, I think it is enough to express my experience.
